Installation Notes
Clean the oil pan rail and block mating surfaces thoroughly to remove all old gasket material, oil, and debris. Inspect the oil pan flange for warping. Apply a small bead of RTV at the front cover and rear seal corner joints per Cummins service procedure — install the gasket itself dry. Torque oil pan bolts in sequence to Cummins specification, allow RTV to cure, then refill and check for leaks at operating temperature.
