Description
Genuine Detroit Diesel OEM coolant temperature sensor (23514708) for Series 60 11.1L, 12.7L, and 14L engines, plus Series 50 8.5L and 149 Series. The sensor reports coolant temperature to the DDEC ECM and drives fan-clutch engagement, cold-start enrichment, and fuel-injection timing.
Detroit 60 Series Coolant Temp Sensor Location
On the Detroit Series 60, the 23514708 threads into the right (passenger) side of the cylinder head toward the rear of the engine. Access in cab-over chassis may require removing the doghouse cover. The sensor uses a 2-pin oval connector and an M19 x 1.5 thread.
