Description
Genuine Detroit Diesel 23527339 timing reference sensor (TRS) for Detroit Series 60 (11.1L, 12.7L, 14L) and Series 50 engines with DDEC electronic controls. Mounts on the left side of the gear case at the crankshaft centerline and reads the timing-wheel teeth, feeding crank-position and engine-speed data to the DDEC ECM for injector timing. Works in concert with the synchronous reference sensor (SRS, 23527338) on the camshaft for cylinder ID. Includes O-ring; PAI cross-references this as 650667.
Signs You Need a New Timing Reference Sensor
- Engine cranks but will not start (DDEC Code 41 — TRS signal missing)
- Rough running, misfiring, or erratic engine operation
- DDEC fault codes for crank/cam sensor signal (41, 42, 43)
