Description
The LT1 oil pan, introduced in 2016 for the LT1 and LT4 powered Camaro SS / ZL1 and Cadillac CTS-V, has plenty of oil capacity at around 10 quarts, making it more effective than the smaller oil pans used in the LS series engines. However, it lacks essential oil pan baffling.
Improved Racing’s drop-in baffle addresses this shortcoming by incorporating three trap doors behind the pickup tube to help prevent oil from flowing away from the pickup tube under hard acceleration and cornering. Drain guides and a wave break also help direct oil flow into the pickup tube area.
Note the complete lack of oil pan baffling in the factory oil pan (top), aside from the oil trap for hard braking.
