Liquid Controls Air Actuated/Differential Check Valvesare designed to prevent flow whenever air or vapor ispresent, thereby assuring accurate measurement.
Check Valves are normally closed, spring loaded valvesinstalled on the meter outlet. When fluid enters the valvefrom the inlet side, and the pressure is greater than theback pressure combined with the force of the spring, thespring will compress, opening the valve and allowing fluidto pass through.
When back pressure plus spring strength is greater thanthe fluid pressure entering the meter, the valve will remainclosed.
These meters are used in conjunction with the air/vaporeliminator to prevent air/vapor from being metered. Thisis important when split compartment testing.
