Description
The PAI 853716 is a 3-pin coolant level sensor that replaces Mack/Volvo OEM 22564822 (and the earlier 20900982 / 22229570 numbers it superseded) in the surge tank or coolant reservoir of Mack MP7/MP8 and Volvo D11/D13 cooling systems. Oval Packard-style connector, 5.35 in body length. Used to feed the cluster low-coolant warning lamp and engine ECU coolant-level input.
Signs You Need a New Coolant Level Sensor
- “Low Coolant” warning lamp on with the surge tank actually full
- Coolant warning that won’t clear after refill / bleed
- Diagnostic codes for coolant-level circuit (open / short / out of range)
- Cracked or melted connector pigtail at the sensor
- Coolant seepage at the sensor body or surge-tank port
