Description
The World American WA229860 is an aftermarket quick-release (QR-1 style) valve for heavy-duty truck air-brake systems. Direct replacement for Bendix 229860 / 229860N / 229860RX, Haldex KN32011, Meritor R955229860, and Tectran TV229860. Near-zero (0–1 psi) crack pressure rapidly evacuates brake-chamber air for faster brake release and improved driver control.

The QR-1 quick-release valve is a near-universal brake-system component used wherever fast brake-chamber exhaust is required. Typical placement is at the rear-axle service line on tractors and trailers; some configurations also use it on the front service line. Found on Class 6–8 trucks from:
- Freightliner Cascadia, Columbia, Century, FLD, M2 (any year specifying Bendix 229860)
- Kenworth, Peterbilt with Bendix air systems
- International / Navistar trucks with Bendix air systems
- Mack R-series, CH, CL, Pinnacle, Anthem (with Bendix air system)

Verify the OEM number on the existing valve and the supply / delivery port sizes (1/2″ supply, (2) 3/8″ delivery) before installation. The QR-1 family includes related sizes (e.g., R-12, R-14) which are NOT interchangeable.
